Privacy policy
Last updated 7 November 2026
In short: Tajdid keeps only what it needs to back up your habits and send your reminders. Your exact location never leaves your phone. There are no ads, no tracking, and we never sell or share your data. You can download or delete everything at any time.
Who we are
Tajdid (tajdid.app, the app at app.tajdid.app and on Google Play) is a habit app built around the five daily prayers. It is made and run by an independent developer. In this policy, “we” means the people who run Tajdid. Questions about privacy go to support@tajdid.app.
What we keep
You sign in to Tajdid with your email or Google. Your habits live on your phone and are backed up to your account, so you can use Tajdid on another phone. Prayer times and the Hijri date are worked out on your phone. We keep:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Your email address | To sign you in and send you sign-in codes. |
| Your habits, what you checked off and when, and any pauses | To back up and sync your progress. |
| Your settings: the name the app greets you by, prayer calculation method, reminder choices and your city | To back up your setup and work out prayer times for reminders. |
| If you turn on reminders: a notification address for each phone | To send reminders to that phone. |
| A record of which reminders were sent | So the same reminder is never sent twice. |
Location: if you tap “Use my location”, your exact position is used on your phone only. We back up just the city it falls in (the city's name, country, time zone and the city's own coordinates), never your exact position.
We don't collect contacts, photos, device identifiers or advertising IDs, and we don't use analytics or tracking tools.
How we use it
- To run the app: sign in, back up and sync, and send reminders you asked for.
- To answer you when you email us.
We never use your data for ads, never sell it, and never share it with anyone except the services below, which only process it to run Tajdid. No one at Tajdid reads your habits.
Services that help run Tajdid
- Supabase: stores your account and backup, and runs the reminder service.
- Cloudflare: hosts the app and our email address.
- Resend: delivers sign-in code emails.
- Google: only if you choose “Sign in with Google”. Google tells us your email address; we don't ask for anything else. The app also loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address when it does.
- Your phone's notification service (for example Google on Android, Apple on iPhone): carries reminders to your phone.
These services may store data in countries other than yours, including the United States.
Keeping it safe
Your data is encrypted while it's sent and while it's stored. Each account can only read its own data.
Your choices and rights
- Download: Settings → Account → Download my data gives you everything as a file.
- Correct: change any habit or setting in the app.
- Reminders: turn them off in Settings → Reminders, or in your phone's settings.
- Delete: Settings → Account → Delete account removes your account and all your history straight away. If you can't open the app, see how to delete your account.
Depending on where you live, you may have other rights over your data, such as objecting to how it's used or complaining to a data protection authority. Email us and we'll help.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account, everything is deleted from our servers straight away, and from any backup copies within 30 days. Logging out also clears Tajdid from that phone.
Children
Tajdid is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us data, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects what we keep or who we share it with, we'll tell you in the app first.
